TUSCALOOSA, ALA. (December 2009) – Over-the-road truckers have an average life expectancy of less than 60 years – a statistic that’s not surprising given the high rates of obesity, heart disease and diabetes in the driving population. Truckers need all of the information they can get to help them lead healthier lives, which is why Randall-Reilly has partnered with the Healthy Trucking Association of America (HTAA) to produce Health and Wellness Pavilions at the 2010 Great West Truck Show and the 2010 Great American Trucking Show.

“We are committed to making a difference in the industries we serve,” says Alan K. Sims, vice president/executive director, Randall-Reilly Events Group. “This partnership will enable us to offer attendees at both of our shows access to critical information that can help them lead longer lives.”

The Healthy Trucking Association of America will sell booth space within the HTAA Health and Wellness Pavilions at both shows. Expected exhibitors will include sleep apnea solutions, blood pressure monitoring, exercise equipment, medical services, vitamins and supplements, healthy eating options, and insurance companies, among many others.

“The Healthy Trucking Association of America is very pleased to partner with Randall-Reilly in support of our efforts to improve the health of the Trucking Industry,” says Brett Blowers, HTAA Director of Marketing.  “GATS and GWTS are two of the most well-known trucking shows in the world and will provide us with a spectacular platform to showcase the health and wellness products and services that are now available to help our nation’s drivers get healthy and live longer lives.”

In addition to the Health and Wellness Pavilions, the Great West Truck Show and the Great American Trucking Show will offer attendees a wide range of educational and entertainment options, including workshops, presentations, free concerts and the Pride and Polish Truck Beauty Events. The Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas will be held June 17-19, 2010, and the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, will take place August 26-28, 2010.
