FMCSA presents - Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) WORKSHOP
June 9, 2011 – 9:30 AM -11:00 AM

The California Trucking Association in conjunction with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) will be conducting a Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) workshop. CSA is an FMCSA initiative to improve large truck and bus safety with a goal to achieve a greater reduction in large truck and bus crashes, injuries and fatalities. CARB REGULATORY COMPLIANCE PANEL
June 11, 2011 – 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The California Trucking Association will host a panel discussion with a group of regulatory, compliance, finance and technology experts on the topic of the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) pending diesel truck regulations. CARB’s major Statewide Truck and Bus Rule goes into effect January 1, 2012. If you run diesel trucks over 14,000 lbs GVWR into California, regardless of where they are domiciled, this regulation will apply to you. Fines can range up to $10,000 per day!$50 Members | $100 Non-members

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS CERTIFICATION
June 9, 2011 – 8:00 AM
This seminar is for hazmat shippers, transporters and handlers and should be mandatory for all employees who are involved with hazardous materials. Employers must ensure that each employee is trained within 90 days of employment and recertified every 36 months. We will cover general requirements, hazmat tables, shipping papers, packaging, marking and labeling, placarding, loading, emergency response and security. Hazmat training, testing and certification are required every 36 months. Each paid attendee will be provided a Hazardous Material Regulation Manual.

SENSITIVITY TRAINING
June 9, 2011 – 1:00 PM
This training is to meet the ongoing compliance requirements regarding the prevention of workplace harassment. An employer having 50 or more employees shall provide at least two hours of classroom or other effective interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment to all supervisory employees who are employed as of July 1, 2005, and to all new supervisory employees within six months of their assumption of a supervisory position under the provisions contained in AB 1825 (Reyes).

SAILING THROUGH YOUR BIT
June 10, 2011 – 8:00 AM
This course offers a comprehensive training seminar that will assist companies with understanding and preparing for BIT audits. The material will be covered in-depth and a BIT Kit will be provided to each paid attendee. Specifically, this seminar will provide the attendee with a complete overview of the biennial inspection of terminals process and will emphasize the four most frequent problem areas: Driver Qualification and Discipline, Hours of Service, Maintenance, and Out-of-Service Rules.

DRUG & ALCOHOL SUPERVISOR REASONABLE SUSPICION TRAINING

This course is customized for employees who supervise those involved in a safety-sensitive position and are required to have a minimum of two hours of training to aid in the recognition of the signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol abuse. Our course goes beyond the requirements and includes role playing to train attendees in basic interview tactics to help protect your company from false accusations and lawsuits.

FEDERAL & CALIFORNIA HOURS OF SERVICE: BE PREPARED!
June 10, 2011 – 8:00 AM
You must be proactive to protect your company against violations. This hands-on, interactive seminar provides training on the federal hours of service regulations and the proper use of driver logs. You’ll participate in a driver log review, learn to identify inaccurate entries and establish a progressive disciplinary program for drivers. In addition, you’ll learn how to find key issues that cause RED FLAGS to investigators, as well as receive an update on changes to the law.
