Show owner/producer Randall-Reilly Events pleased with results of The Great West Truck Show
TUSCALOOSA, AL. (July 14, 2008) – According to management of The Great West Truck Show, “This year’s show could not have been better,” said Mike Reilly, president and CEO of Randall-Reilly Publishing LLC, owner of Randall-Reilly Events Group and The Great West Truck Show – Las Vegas. “To have a show grow so dramatically and have such good attendance, in such a challenging environment, was more than anyone could have expected.”
“We were very pleased with the support of more than 400 exhibiting companies, including most of the major truck and trailer OEM’s” said Alan K. Sims, vice president/executive director.
Show management reported that overall visitor registrations increased from 17,772 in 2007, to 18,716, an increase of 5.3 percent. The group also reported that there were strong gains in the quality of attendance. Of the qualified registered attendees, 76 percent indicated that they made purchasing decisions. With respect to truck owners in attendance, the number dramatically increased on average by 32.5 percent of those owning Class 6-8 trucks. “While we had a respectable increase in overall attendance, the quality of our audience went way up,” Sims said.
Additionally, contracted exhibit space increased from 86,550 net square feet in 2007, to 133,900 in 2008, a total increase of 54.7 percent. “We must attribute this success to the help of our exhibitors promoting the event and our ‘promotional machine,’ which includes industry leading magazines, a database company, a radio network, a telemarketing company and other strong marketing partners,” said Sims. “We also received extensive support from the California Trucking Association, Nevada Motor Transport Association, Arizona Trucking Association and California Dump Truck Owners Association.”
Next year’s Great West Truck Show will be held June 25, 26 and 27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The show floor will grow again in 2009 by 33 percent, as a result of adding Hall N1. The total show will encompass more than 409,000 square feet.
Randall-Reilly also produces the Great American Trucking Show, held annually in Dallas, Texas. GATS has been recognized by Tradeshow Week, a leading industry publication, as one of the “Fastest 50,” the fastest-growing events in the U.S. and Canada, as well as one of the “Tradeshow 200” events, which represent the 200 largest events in the U.S. and Canada.
