HAZARDOUS MATERIALS CERTIFICATION – Room N255

This seminar is for hazmat shippers, transporters and handlers and should be mandatory for all employees who are involved with hazardous materials. Employers must ensure that each employee is trained initially within 90 days of employment and recertified every 36 months. We will cover general requirements, hazmat tables, shipping papers, packaging, marking and labeling, placarding, loading, emergency response and security. A Hazardous Material Regulation Manual is provided to each paid attendee.

This seminar covers regulations that mandate training and knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. We cover all pertinent Federal Motor Carrier Safety Requirements and touch on corresponding state laws including:  Alcohol and drug testing, driver’s licensing and qualifications, accident control, insurance requirements, hours of service and logs, maintenance, and basic hazardous materials. FEDERAL HOURS OF SERVICE – Room N255

How the driver’s hours of service are utilized is one of the most visible and audited of the areas over which the DOT mandates management control. Everyone in the industry must have an intimate knowledge of hours of service limits and logs. It is not so much about logs or even hours limits as it is about fatigue and how to minimize it. Regulations have been changing substantially over the past four years and may change again in the near future. We will cover the regulations and interpretations that effect how we limit our driver’s hours and record that activity on the logs. Each paid attendee will be provided a copy of the Hours of Service regulations in Part 395 of the FMCSR.

California Environmental Regulatory Overview and Discussion – Room N257

This seminar will offer insight into some of the most complicated and costly environmental regulatory requirements in the country. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has passed and is enforcing several regulations aimed at users of Heavy Duty Diesel Trucks. Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 (CSA 2010) – Room N257

The California Trucking Association in conjunction with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) will be conducting  Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) 2010 workshops at the Great West Truck Show. CSA 2010 is an FMCSA initiative to improve large truck and bus safety with a goal to achieve a greater reduction in large truck and bus crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Key features of CSA 2010 include the following:

• Increase contact with carriers and drivers.
• Improve performance measurements for identifying high risk motor carrier and driver behaviors.
• Correct high risk behaviors before they become chronic and habitual.

Implementation of CSA2010 is expected later this year. Get CSA2010 information straight from the source, the FMCSA.

The Great West Truck Show  will again reserve free truck parking for the 2010 show. Parking will be available in the Gold Lot directly across the street from the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Directions From Interstate 15 take Sahara Ave East or Flamingo Road East. To enter the lot, take a left on Convention Center Drive if you are coming from Flamingo, take a right if you are coming from Sahara. Avoid the strip, otherwise known as Las Vegas Boulevard, as traffic is very heavy.As a trucking professional, you may take advantage of this free truck parking next to the Convention Center where you will enjoy a secure lot, restroom facilities, and refreshments.

Truck parking will be available all three days of the show, June 17-19, 2010. The lot will open Thursday morning of June 17. This is a first come, first serve lot and is reserved for Class 8 trucks only. NO OVERNIGHT PARKING ALLOWED.
